BougeRV Solar Generators: Quick Summary

Before we go deep into a review of every BougeRV solar generator, let’s start with a quick overview first.

Most Powerful BougeRV Power Station

The most powerful BougeRV power station is the BougeRV Rover 2000 Power Station. It has a large 2kWH battery, 2.2kW inverter, and can handle up to 1,500W of solar power input.

If that’s not enough, you can add up to three external battery packs for around 8kWH of total battery storage.

This is going to be the best option for those with serious electrical needs for camping. It’ll handle bringing solar power to your RV or campervan with days of battery storage covered and plenty of charging capability to capture the sun in an instant.

But as far as backup home power goes, it is a relatively lightweight system. Companies like EcoFlow, Bluetti, and Anker have substantially larger options.

Middle of the Road BougeRV Solar Generators

The next step down is the BougeRV Fort 1500 Power Station, which still keeps a large 2.2kW inverter and a pretty good size 1.5kWh battery bank. But you lose the ability to add external battery packs. And the solar charging maximum is a much more limited 400W.

Overall, this is still a great package for many campers. It will perform exceptionally well for weekend trips with minimal or zero charging. Toss on a solar panel or two and you can go for extended overlanding excursions without concern of having warm food or dead phones.

But you will notice some limits with the charging rates. With a 1.5kWh battery and 400W charging input, it’ll take at least 6 hours of peak sunlight to get up to 100% charge.

The Fort 1000 is the next option, which brings the price down dramatically without reducing the battery size too much. It has a 1.2kW inverter and 200W charging abilities.

For this battery size, that’s a well-rounded unit. And at over 1kWh battery storage, you can charge a phone over 100 times, run a fridge all night long, and do a lot with this compact bundle.

Lightweight Option for a BougeRV Power Station

The cheapest BougeRV Solar Generator is the Flash 300. It’s ideal for charging small devices or powering lights and small fans.

Unlike the 1500 and 1000 units, the Flash 300 focuses on fast charging capabilities. Despite having a much smaller battery (~300Wh), it ramps up solar charging input to 600W. This could potentially charge the entire battery in one hour!

As far as entry-level solar generators go, this is a great option. It’s likely that you’ll start saving for an upgrade right away though.

    BougeRV Company Information

BougeRV was started in 2017, focused on providing advanced electronics useful to campers and RVs.

BougeRV’s popular solar generators are the core products. But they also have expanded into other portable electronics.

It supplies a variety of electric coolers that are some of the most competitive in the industry, including some with integrated batteries, dual chambers, and fridge/freezer abilities. And the BougeRV portable air conditioner is bringing a new level of comfort to the outdoor adventure world.

As the brand evolves, it has focused on meeting the needs and desires of those who like to get outside and explore, while bringing creature comforts along for the ride.

    Where is BougeRV located?

Like most advanced electronics companies, the BougeRV company manufactures their devices in China, where the vast majority of battery-based electronics are produced. This allows them to be on the leading edge of innovation while also keeping costs exceptionally low.

BougeRV also has offices in the United States, with the main one located in Houston, Texas. They have a large international presence and serve many countries across the globe.

BougeRV ROVER2000 Semi-Solid State Portable Power Station

BougeRV Power Stations and Solar Generators

Let’s dive into the details of the BougeRV solar generators. You can just the power station alone or as a solar generator bundle with the power station and solar panels.

Some bundles include other BougeRV accessories like portable fridges and air conditioners for the ultimate package with top savings.

    BougeRV Rover 2000 Power Station

BougeRV pushes forward with an innovative, growing lineup. And this power station hurdles beyond the competition.

As the largest BougeRV power station, the Rover 2000 packs quite a bit of electricity into a compact and lightweight package. What sets this option apart from other 2,000Wh battery power stations includes:

    • Advanced semi-solid battery technology reduces size/weight while increasing efficiency
    • Impressive 1,500W charging rates for both solar input and AC input

If you want to power a lot of electronics while camping or add some solar power to your RV or campervan, this is a great choice. Its application as a household backup system is more limited than monster options from EcoFlow and Bluetti, but it still can power essential devices for many hours or days.

With a 2,200W AC inverter, you can connect a lot of electronics at one time. This will easily power a fridge, charge phones, run lights, and a whole lot more at the same time. It can even handle hair dryers, powerful blenders, and other fairly power-hungry devices.

This impressive semi-solid BougeRV battery makes for a smaller and lighter 2,008Wh battery pack as compared to most lithium-ion batteries. It’s easier to pack and carry. It’s even more advanced than LiFePO4 battery technology.

This 2,008Wh BougeRV power station can also connect with up to three more external battery packs. Total capacity can reach 8,032Wh. That’s enough to:

    • Charge a phone 650 times
    • Power a 60W BougeRV fridge for a week
    • Run the 240W BougeRV air conditioner for ~25 hours

Even without the extra BougeRV batteries, you still have days of fridge power and a full night of air conditioning.

The charging rates really transform this BougeRV power station into an excellent solar generator. You can connect up to 1,500W of solar panels. And the integrated BougeRV solar charger makes it incredibly flexible and easy to do. You can connect solar panels in series or parallel without a problem thanks to the high voltage and current ratings. Other brands lack this flexibility.

If you max out the solar, you can fully recharge the integrated battery pack in less than two hours.

Overall, the BougeRV Rover 2000 Power Station is a beastly little device that will bring a new level of energy independence to your life and adventures. All in an amazingly compact device at a great price.

BougeRV Solar Generator Fort 1500 + 200W Solar Panel

    BougeRV Fort 1500 Power Station

The next level of BougeRV power stations drops down to ~1,500Wh of battery power. Still more than enough to power most camping devices including BougeRV fridges and even the air conditioner.

The main differences with this device are:

    • Uses the industry standard LiFePO4 battery type
    • No external expansion battery available
    • Lower charging rate of about 400W for solar or AC

The battery type is still the gold standard of battery chemistry and 1.5kWh is a lot of energy. Enough to charge small devices endlessly (~130 times for a phone) and keep a 60W BougeRV fridge running for multiple days without any recharging.

The 400W solar input is a little limiting. But it can still recharge the entire battery in one day of ideal sunlight.

It does retain the 2,200W output, which means you can power a lot of devices at once. In fact, this inverter is very high for this size of battery. But it’s great to have the ability to run high-powered devices if you want to.

Deciding between this Fort 1500 or Rover 2000 is tough. If your budget allows and there’s any chance you need it, the extra battery options and solar input make the Rover 2000 the easy winner. Yet the Fort 1500 is great if it meets your needs.

BougeRV Solar Generator Fort 1000 + 100W Solar Panel

    BougeRV Fort 1000 Power Station

Now we’re getting into more affordable BougeRV power stations. And even though this solar generator chops down the price like Paul Bunyan, it leaves many of the specifications alone.

Overall, this BougeRV power station is one of the most attractive in their lineup. It balances price with capability and is great for:

    • Multi-day camping trips with a fridge and many small devices
    • Battery backup at home to keep your fridge and essential electronics running for several hours
    • Bringing electricity to an event in the park or beach

This BougeRV battery holds a 1,120Wh battery inside this magical box. That’s enough for ~100 phone charges. And even without any charging input, it can still run a 60W fridge overnight easily, maybe an entire day if ambient temps are low.

The 1,200W output of the inverter is more than you’ll likely need. Power ten LED lights, charge multiple phones, and keep your Starlink running without a problem. No, it won’t handle large air conditioner units, but that’s not what this power station is for.

To recharge, you have 200W of solar or AC input at your fingertips. With ~4 hours of peak sunlight, you’ll recharge more than 50% of the internal battery.

This option is available as a BougeRV solar generator in many different pre-selected packages that are worth checking out.

BougeRV Flash300 Fast Charging Power Station

    BougeRV Flash 300 Solar Generator

This small solar generator offers two great things together: affordability and incredibly fast recharging rates. For limited electrical needs, it can work very well.

To start with, this little beast has a serious BougeRV solar charger built within. One that’s a little crazy for the battery size. It can handle up to 600W of solar panels, potentially charging the internal battery in less than an hour.

Even a 100W solar panel will recharge in about 3-4 hours.

This rapid charging can come in handy to recharge via an AC outlet before your trip. Even if you forget about it, plug it in as you’re packing and it’ll probably be full by the time you shift into drive.

The main limitation is the 286Wh battery.

This will be able to charge a phone over 20 times and run an LED light for around 25 hours straight. But if you attach a small 60W fridge, it could drain the battery in less than 5 hours.

It features a wireless charging pad on top. And two easy carry handles.

In general, this is a nice starter solar generator that will bring a little power wherever you go. If you want to power a fridge, Starlink, or anything more substantial than phones and lights, it’s probably worth saving your money until you can get a system with a bigger battery.

BougeRV JuiceGo 240Wh Portable Power Station

BougeRV JuiceGo 240Wh Portable Power Station

If you want a much smaller portable power station, this BougeRV JuiceGo 240Wh Portable Power Station is a good choice. It packs everything down into an incredibly portable and lightweight package, weighing less than 7 lbs (3 kg).

The battery also drops down to just 240Wh. But this can be a good amount of power for many outings. It still offers about 20 phone charges and enough juice to power a small portable fridge for 4-5 hours (without any solar).

What’s nice about this small solar generator is that it is very well balanced. The battery size, AC inverter, and charging rates all compliment each other well, and that’s because they’re all on the smaller side.

To match the 240Wh battery, you can use a 100W charging port for solar, AC outlets, or car charging. And that will recharge this battery in about 3 hours from 0% to 100%.

You still have a choice of outputs to keep your devices running, including:

    • 150W AC inverter outlet
    • 130W DC output through a cigarette lighter port
    • Two USB-C ports, with up to 100W of power
    • One USB-A with the standard 18W output

The cherry on top is a nice little LED light with 3 different modes.

While this might not be the most powerful BougeRV power station, it does pack a ton into a tiny package. The BougeRV JuiceGo 240Wh Portable Power Station can be an excellent adventure companion.

    BougeRV 220Wh Portable Power Station

    BougeRV 220Wh Portable Power Station

BougeRV has yet another small power station for your devices. The BougeRV 220Wh Portable Power Station is very closely related to the slightly larger 240Wh version, but with some important differences.

The best thing about this power station is when its used with BougeRV’s CRPOR portable fridge lineup. It fits into the storage compartment and can extend the runtime by up to 6 hours. For those with this BougeRV product already, getting this power station can be a great way to make sure it meets your needs while away from charging sources. It can also help while you charge one power source to use this in the meantime.

The worst thing about this power station is that it drops the AC inverter. So if you want to power any devices that require the use of a normal household plug, this is not the power station to use.

It also uses the slightly less impressive NMC battery chemistry, with a much shorter lifecycle rating of about 700 full charges until it drops below 80% capacity. Not the end of the world, but compared to LiFePO4’s 3,000 cycles, it’s a stark contrast.

What this small power station does well is keep things simple. It has one cigarette port, one USB-C port, and one USB-A port. The USB-C port is input and output, so you can use it to charge devices or charge the power station. There’s another DC charging port that’s useful for non-USB-C charging of the power station too.

For those with BougeRV CRPRO fridges or that want a compact power station without an AC inverter, this BougeRV 220Wh Portable Power Station can do the trick.

BougeRV Solar Panels: Flexible, Rigid, and Foldable

The main types of BougeRV solar panels include foldable, flexible, and rigid. They all feature MC4 connectors with the ability to use all sorts of adapters for nearly any solar generator or solar charger on the market.

    BougeRV 200W 12V 9BB Portable Solar Panel

    Portable Solar Panels

One group of BougeRV solar panels is the portable and foldable type. These are great for using with BougeRV solar generators for camping trips or for adding solar power to an RV without hassling with permanent installation. You can even use these at your home during outages.

The most affordable BougeRV portable solar panels are the folding type that are briefcase style, available as 200W, 130W, and 100W sizes. They can easily connect together with the MC4 connectors to create a larger array.

The BougeRV Paso 100W CIGS Portable Solar Blanket is one of the best solar panels for backpacking and hiking. It uses a 16-panel design to pack down incredibly small. It’s also lighter than other 100W options and has incredible performance in challenging conditions, like low light or partial shade. The downside is the premium price.

BougeRV Yuma 100W CIGS Thin-film Flexible Solar Panel

    Flexible Solar Panels

BougeRV flexible solar panels include two different series: the Arch and the Yuma. These are ideal for curved RVs or boats.

The BougeRV Arch Solar Panels use flexible fiberglass material that can bend up to 270 degrees. They are about two pennies thick and incredibly lightweight. They’re also very affordable.

The BougeRV Yuma Solar Panels use an advanced Copper Indium Gallium Selenide (CIGS) technology. This improves nearly every aspect of the design from lifespan to light sensitivity. They also are ready to go with either adhesive on the back or pre-punched holes around the edges. But these BougeRV solar panel prices match the cutting-edge technology.

Both the Arch and Yuma are available as 100W or 200W panels. You can order up to 4 of either size to get a small amount of savings.

    BougeRV 200W 12V 9BB Mono Solar Panel

    Rigid Solar Panels

The BougeRV rigid solar panels work perfectly for any roof, including those on an RV or campervan.

These are available in two types: single-face solar panel and bifacial solar panels. Bifacial incorporate transparent construction so that the backside of the panel can absorb up to 30% additional charge (in absolutely ideal conditions, like on top of a mirror). If you’re very tight on space, it can be worth the extra cost to get the most energy generated per square foot.

All of these BougeRV solar panels feature monocrystalline panels, the gold standard of solar panel technology. And they use a 10BB cell design, which helps boost performance. They are also rated to pass the strict EL test. These are exceptional solar panels.

BougeRV Solar Chargers, Batteries, and Kits

If these out-of-the-box solar generators don’t fit your needs, you can always turn to a DIY solution. This will be best for permanent installations in an RV or campervan.

Once you do your homework, BougeRV solar products are there to help with nearly every step of the kit. This will typically include:

    • Solar Panels: Generate power from the sun
    • Connectors: A variety of MC4 connectors and wires, plus mounts and angle supports for your solar panels
    • Charge Controllers: Essential device that controls and monitors the flow from panels to battery
    • Batteries: Storing energy for later use
    • Inverters: Pure sine devices to convert battery DC power into 110V AC power for household devices

Don’t forget to make sure you properly fuse the system, use the right gauge wires, and connect your solar panels in series vs. parallel properly. Doing a DIY system can be a great way to get exactly what you want, but it’s requires attention to many small details.

If you want a device that will instantly connect to solar panels, absorb the power and charge a battery, then send it off to any DC or AC device, the BougeRV solar generator tackles it in one sleek package. And it comes with a 5-year warranty and endless customer support.

A selection of the top BougeRV accessories for camping and RVs

    Essential BougeRV Accessories

BougeRV is building an extensive array of electrical gear that will go great with any BougeRV solar generator or power station. Here’s a quick rundown of the top options.

    Carry Case and Hand Truck

Weighing in at about 40 lbs (18 kg) at most, many people can carry BougeRV power stations without a problem. But if this weight is a little too much or you want the added convenience, there’s a BougeRV folding hand truck (dolly) that is specifically made for BougeRV power stations.

This could be ideal for those with mobility issues or for dealing with situations where you might have to walk your power station far from the car.

    BougeRV Fridge and Coolers

One of the most exciting options from the BougeRV company is the lineup of portable electric coolers. These come in a variety of sizes and capabilities.

Many BougeRV coolers come with an internal separation so you can have a fridge and a freezer while camping.

The Aspen 30 Pro is a BougeRV fridge with an integrated battery that will last at least 5 hours (probably more like 10) without any input. You can use this with any solar generator to boost the battery capacity and performance. Or just take the fridge and small battery on the go alone

Once you get one of these, you’ll never go back to ice coolers again. Like a solar generator, these unlock a new level that makes every trip better.

    Portable Air Conditioner

BougeRV is stepping up your comfort bigtime with this portable air conditioner. It sticks with a nice low-watt consumption rate so its friendly to your solar power needs, but still packs in nearly 3k BTUs of cooling power.

The only catch is that even though this is a very efficient and low-watt design, it still takes a good amount of electricity to run any air conditioner. At full blast, this will run at nearly 250W. That means it will eat through 1,000Wh of battery in four hours.

Make sure to pair this with one of the large BougeRV solar generators, like the Rover 2000 or Fort 1500.
